FAMOUS ARTISTVidà

the alchemist painter
He created more than one hundred and thirty new colors by extracting them from natural materials.
Davide Vinattieri, Vidà, a Tuscan painter, intuitive, self-taught, trained in the most important Florentine restoration workshops, then creating classic furnishings of the Tuscan tradition, finally moving to paint on wooden boards.
Vidà’s art is expressed through a personal ‘alchemical’ research of color.
From Nature he draws his inspiration and, referring to the old technique of extracting natural color, he uses raw materials to always extract new colors, unexplored shades that he applies in is paintings representing the wind, the rain, the storm, the sea, the dawn, the sunset, the night.
Vidà recognizes himself in the techniques of abstract expressionism: following the suggestions of ‘action painting’, the artist paints without a preliminary drawing, but transported by the deep impulses of the soul. Vidà’s paintings are chromatic storms,
tumultuous interior expression, without the dimensional limit of the table from which the painting seems to ‘continue’ to the infinite. Vidà is an alchemist painter, interested in the transmutation of substances, metals, minerals that he researches in Tuscany and in the world: such as malachite, effervescent green, cinnabar, vermilion red, orpiment, intense yellow, and more.

Over 130 are the colors discovered and classified by Vidà extracted from natural pigments.
Last research includes a deep analysis of pigments, with their chromatic variations, of the wings of butterflies; new shades and nuances recognizable in his last artworks.
