The Art Gallery in Cana – Tuscany
“LE NOZZE DI CANA – Art Gallery” was opened in 2018 by Daniele Bedini and Silvano Bavia, the first an architect, the second an artist, as an exhibition space of their English company “Maremma Houses Ltd.” United in work and life, Daniele and Silvano, after a long stint in London, where they organized exhibitions and events, decided to open a small exhibition space in a small village in Maremma, Tuscany: Cana. It was a gamble! Their goal was to promote Cana, destined for oblivion, through contemporary art, opening their gallery and enriching the village with permanent works of art by internationally renowned artists. After 8 years, the results are evident! The exhibitions organized by Daniele & Silvano at
the Gallery are attracting more and more visitors, not only from Maremma, but also from across Italy and abroad, bringing this beautiful medieval village to an ever-wider audience. The media are taking an interest in this venture, spreading the word through articles, interviews, and TV programs. So, a gamble paid off! Every year, Daniele and Silvano bring the gallery to life by inviting internationally renowned artists, giving them a theme for their works. Furthermore, the village is enriched year after year with permanent works, such as murals, sculptures, and installations. The murals are by famous graffiti artists such as Ericailcane, SKIM, and JodyPinge. The sculptures/installations are by Paolo Staccioli, Sarah Del Giudice, and Silvano Bavia himself.
