About Us

In 2018, architect Daniele Bedini and artist Silvano Bavia opened their art gallery, “LE NOZZE DI CANA,” a challenge to enhance the small medieval village of Cana, in the province of Grosseto, through contemporary art.

Daniele Bedini and Silvano Bavia, passionate about art and design, after a long stint in London, decided to return to Italy and open a new space, an art gallery, in the small medieval village of Cana, located 500 meters above sea level in the beautiful and unspoiled Maremma countryside. They thus established the “LE NOZZE DI CANA” art gallery as a gathering place for internationally renowned artists, the local community, and the numerous and ever-growing admirers of the artworks exhibited.

Their philanthropic goal is to rescue this splendid village from oblivion and abandonment by showcasing contemporary artworks both in the gallery and throughout the village. This will attract high-level cultural tourism and promote Cana locally, nationally, and internationally for its innovative and sophisticated content.

The gallery is open only in the summer, but always by appointment, even in the winter with due notice.

2018

Daniele and Silvano, returning to Italy, fulfilled their dream: opening a small exhibition space in the tiny medieval village of Cana, a short distance from Grosseto and the sea, which offers splendid views from the village.
Thus, the art gallery “LE NOZZE DI CANA” was born, integrated into a small wine bar, a format very similar to the showroom they had in London. A success!

2023

Silvano and Daniele decided to focus their energy and time solely on art. Thus, their space in Cana became exclusively an art gallery, hosting themed exhibitions every year from June to the end of September, featuring works by international, Italian, and foreign artists. This attracted curious and art-loving tourists to Cana and brought this Maremma village to an ever-wider audience; this was precisely the project’s goal! To rescue Cana from abandonment and oblivion.

2025

Since 2023 the gallery has hosted themed exhibitions, inviting internationally renowned artists
