Classicism in contemporary art

Danilo Fusi is a ‘master’ capable of rendering us, with a very delicate Renaissance technique, emotions and figures of extreme modernity.

Danilo Fusi, born in Scandicci (Florence) in 1940, just from the beginning, transposes his classical cultural background into his

works, made of memories, ancient texts and paintings, expressing his innermost self.

He uses the most varied “shots”, the square, the rectangle and the “round”, from classic memory. He overlaps drawing and painting, inserting red, colored ‘borders’ and ‘lettering’

A perfect balance between ‘pictorial mastery’ and contemporary graphics.

His most intimate ‘I’ is expressed in his subjects: faces of women with seductive and sensual eyes, male nudes, which refer to the perfection of Renaissance’s man, rich in plasticity and beauty, up to the most explicit references to the parts of the human body more related to sensuality. And at the center of everything, always the passion for the charm of the female and male figures who in some artworks are ‘together’, united in sensual hugs.

All treated with extreme elegance and lightness always filtered by a sophisticated sensuality. Beautiful women’s faces characterized by colorful and penetrating eyes and detailed flowers, delicate and pastel colors.

His artworks were exhibited in many personal and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Danilo Fusi is part of our permanent collection.
